Decoration Options

Decoration methods are as varied and unique as each one of our customers. This is why we offer a wide variety of decoration methods to best suit your project and creatively establish brand recognition to make your message speak louder than others! Our graphic design team offers design services for organizations that need logos or any other kind of artwork creation. We work with local printers, embroiderers, and other companies that ensure your printed logo looks exactly like it does on the computer screen. Our decoration options include screen-printing, embroidering, heat transfer, laser engraving, embossing, debossing, sublimation and more. The only limit is your imagination!

Screen-printing

Screen-printing or “silk screening” is our most popular decoration method for t-shirts, hoodies and other soft fabrics. This is a printing technique used on most woven materials that creates an ink-blocking barrier to ensure clean and crisp lines on your garment or bag. Each colour will have its own screen (like a stencil), so you may have multiple set-up charges on one job because of multiple colours. For example, if you have a 3 colour logo, you will need 3 screen set up charges. This is usually our most cost effective imprint method and is recommended for artwork up to 4 or 5 colours. Any printing going on a dark coloured shirt requires a white base.

Embroidery

For a higher quality look and feel, we offer embroidery on all apparel items. Embroidery is used usually for small, left chest, right chest or sleeve logos on high quality sweaters, jackets and uniforms. We also recommend it for headwear such as baseball caps and toques. There will be a one-time “digitizing” set up charge on your logo, which may cost between $50 and $150 depending on the size of your logo. It is not recommended for large logos (over 6” x 6”) as the thread becomes more expensive than ink on large areas.

Heat Transfer

Heat transfer is a process that copies a photograph or large graphic onto your desired garments or apparel. It uses a wax-based ink that is melted onto the clothing with intense heat. Because it does not require set up charges for individual screens, it might be the most cost effective way if you are printing just one or two items. This is a great option for printing photographs or artwork with 6 or more colours, but can fade and wear away with multiple washes/high heat drying. We also heat transfer all personalized names and numbers for team jerseys with a high-quality vinyl transfer that will not be affected by drying or washing.

Sublimation

Sublimation printing transfers the ink from a solid to a gas, so it never becomes a liquid. This is the best method for fully decorated shirts as there is no raised area where the ink has been imprinted; it is fully infused with the garment. Sublimated garments usually start out white as it is difficult to sublimate ink onto dark or coloured material. Sublimation is recommended for large quantity orders (over 75 pieces) where the artwork is large and complex. The production time can be up to 60 days and requires extensive graphics planning, but is well worth the wait!

Digital Printing

Digital Printing is a fairly new method of decoration. Each garment is run through a large computer based printer one at a time and prints just like your computer printer at home, but with a much higher quality permanent fabric ink. This allows us to capture photograph or complex images with a very soft ink that you cannot feel on the garment. Digital printing works only on 100% cotton garments, and works best on light coloured garments (white, light blue, etc.)

Infusion

Infusion – similar to Digital Printing, Infusion is a technique created by Trimark to offer razor sharp images with twice the resolution of screen-printing. It’s printed directly into the garment so you cannot feel the ink like you can on screen-printing. The logo can be printed across seams and zippers without any image distortion. For one set up cost, you can have unlimited colours on the same design.

Deboss

Deboss is a decoration method usually used on leather products, but now we can deboss on fabric apparel as well! Offered only through Trimark, debossing creates a unique, 3D, tone-on-tone look as it presses the logo into the garment like a brand or a stamp. This is a great option for waterproof garments as there is no puncturing of the material like with embroidery.

Laser

Laser is similar to deboss as it creates a tone-on-tone, 3D look on your garment. It’s slightly subtler as it carefully burns the garment with laser precision! It can be done over zippers and seams as is another great option for technical garments as it won’t puncture your fabric and will never show any wear or tear.

True Edge Heat Transfer

True Edge Heat Transfer is a premium heat transfer process offered exclusively by Trimark. It is a high quality and permanent heat transfer option that allows you to get as detailed as 8pt font with perfectly clean cut edges without any bleeds or contours. We can distress the transfers for a vintage look, and we can do CMYK or PMS printing, so we can match your logo colours exactly and print your photograph with vibrant and crisp colours!

Photograffix

Photograffix is a heat transfer method through Trimark that captures photograph pictures in the most effect, clear and crisp way. Unlike True Edge, it does require contours for text, but will capture your photograph image with virtually the exact same colours and shades.

Appliqué

Applique is a great choice for large size decoration. It’s a vintage look that cuts twill and felt fabrics and stitches them onto the garment, like a patch but with less embroidery.

Patches

Patches are extremely diverse options for almost any garment. You can choose from rubber, vintage and woven embroidery materials to capture fine details and colours on small spaces. We recommend embroidery and twill patches as separate sell pieces in addition to your garment, or we can sew them right on for you! We can also offer a hot adhesive on the back of each patch so that you can iron them on at home.
